Operations lets your team manage locations, inventory, supplier pricing and physical stock from a computer in the store or back room. You do not need to enroll that computer as a register to use Operations.
Before you begin
Sign in with an account that owns or manages the retail organization. Inventory and settings changes require an online connection. If you were invited to a team, use the account associated with that invitation.
Set up the organization and location
- Create a retail organization, entering its name and the first location name together.
- Open Locations, then choose View location.
- Choose Edit location to add the address or change the location name.
- Under Settings, choose Edit sales tax, enter the location's percentage and save.
- If you manage more than one location, check the selected location before configuring inventory and pricing.
You can add more locations from Locations → Add location. You can also create another retail organization when you operate a separate business.
Prepare an item for sale
- Open Items & packages → New store item.
- Enter the item identity and choose or create its supplier.
- Add the product details you know. Optional cigar metadata can be added later.
- Configure supplier source cost, retail markup and applicable excise rules.
- Create each physical package form you sell, with its item count and identifiers.
- Review the completed item and choose Enable for checkout when its pricing and barcodes are ready.
- Use Stock to receive the physical packages you actually have.
Creating a package form does not add stock. Receiving stock and opening or repacking packages are separate actions.
