Create an inventory item
Add an item identity, supplier, product details and sellable package forms.

Create one inventory item for the product itself, then add the physical package forms you sell. For a cigar, the item is the particular cigar with its distinguishing size and other characteristics; a single, box of 20 and five-pack are package forms of that item.
You need owner or manager access and an online connection.
Enter the item details
- Open Items & packages → New store item.
- Choose a category. Check the existing options before creating a new category.
- Choose the brand, if applicable. Typing in the brand field shows matching suggestions. Add a new value only when the brand you need is missing.
- Choose an optional product line. Suggestions depend on the selected brand.
- Enter the full item name. For cigars, typing can show shared-catalog matches for the selected brand and optional line. Select the matching cigar when appropriate.
- Select a supplier, or use Create supplier to enter one.
- Add an optional short name and notes.
- Choose Save item and continue.
The full name identifies the product. The short name gives you a compact label for smaller displays. Selecting a shared cigar links your store item to that cigar; your supplier, pricing, packages and stock remain part of your store's inventory.
Add cigar details
For cigars, enter the information you know, such as size, ring gauge, wrapper, binder, filler, country, strength or whether the cigar is infused. Leave unknown optional information blank rather than guessing.
Choose Save cigar details and continue, or Skip cigar details for now.
Configure pricing
Set the supplier's source price per base unit, retail markup and applicable excise rules, then choose Save pricing. You can calculate a per-stick source cost from a supplier package cost and its item count.

Add package forms
Create each physical form you sell, such as a single cigar, box of 20 or five-pack. Set its item count, identifiers and optional package discount.
- Save and add another package saves the current package and lets you enter the next one.
- Save saves the package and leaves this step.
Saved steps remain saved if you leave the item entry workflow. A saved item is not automatically ready for checkout, and a saved package form does not create stock.
Enable checkout and receive stock
Open the saved item, check its pricing and package barcodes, then choose Enable for checkout. Use Stock to receive the physical packages you have.

Shared catalog availability
You can select shared brands, product lines and cigars even when nobody has reviewed their data. Missing details do not prevent selection. Check the item details and correct them for your store as needed. Shared catalog names are best-effort records; selecting one does not certify its accuracy or ownership. Hidden or retired records are excluded from suggestions.
