Changing a brand or product line
Product-line suggestions depend on the selected brand. Cigar-name suggestions also use the brand and optional line when editing an existing item.
A supplier restricted to one brand cannot stay assigned to an item changed to another brand. Resolve the supplier choice before making an incompatible brand change.
Changing package size
Package size defines how stock converts between forms. After stock history exists or checkout has been enabled, create a new package form for a different item count instead of changing the old package's size.
Shared pricing changes
A Brand or Product line rule can affect other matching items at the same location using the same supplier profile. Item overrides remain in effect. Review the level you are editing before saving.
See Understand cascading rules.
Shared product details
Brands, product lines and product identities entered in Operations are shared graph records. Choose an existing match when available. Saving a new name adds it to the graph immediately, with the creating user and organization recorded.
When initially matching an item, known graph details are used and missing descriptive fields can be filled from your entry. Later corrections to standard cigar details update the shared record and other inventory items connected to it. Earlier values remain in the change history. Blank or unknown entries do not erase known shared details.
Your store's short names, notes, suppliers, prices, stock and identifiers remain organization data. Category and availability settings stay with your organization. If another person updates shared details while you are editing, reload the item before saving your changes.
